With so much to offer, this wonderful city has to be seen. The imperious Castle District perched over the Danube in Buda features the must-sees of the Royal Palace, St Matthias Church and the Fishermans' Bastion viewpoint. Look over the broad Danube to Pest, which is as flat as a palacsinta (a Hungarian pancake) – scope out the grand neo-gothic Parliament, and the giant dome of St Stephen's Basilica. Walk off your lunch scaling Gellért Hill in Buda on the way to the Citadella fortress.
Over in Pest, trace the roots of the enigmatic Magyars at the National Museum, and watch them let their hair down around the corner on the trendy bar-lined strip of Ráday utca. The opulence of the Opera House is entirely at home on the handsome boulevard of Andrássy út, which connects downtown Pest with the statue-filled Heroes' Square.

Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia, is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe. It combines modern and historic architecture like no other city.
The modernist movement with Antoní Gaudi as its most prominent member left its mark on the city with magnificent buildings like the Sagrada Familia, Casa Milà and Casa Batlló.
Barcelona has several districts, each with its own distinctive character: the historic Barri Gòtic, the modernist Eixample district, the Montjuïc - site of the 1992 Olympics - and the modernized Port Vell are some of the areas you should explore during your visit to Barcelona.2 nights in Florence in a 3*hotel on BB basis from only £199 per person *

2 nights in Marrakesh in a 3*hotel on BB basis from only £225 per person *

Marrakesh is the major city of central Morocco. Enchantingly sited at the foot of the High Atlas Mountains, its rose-coloured walls set within lush green gardens, olive groves and palmeries, it is hard to imagine that Marrakesh, one of Morocco's four Imperial Cities, lies on the edge of the Sahara. Its very name conjures up images of magic carpets and snake charmers - and not without reason. After dark, the central square in the medina, Jemaa-el-Fna, comes to life and puts on a show little changed since medieval times. It is a riot of enticing colour, noise and smells, with dancers, fire-eaters and acrobats, snake charmers and snake oil salesmen, story tellers and fortune-tellers and rows of trestle tables serving up smoking barbecues, mouth-watering tajines and less-than-appetising entrails. Around this vast open space stretch the shadowy alleyways of the souks, a vast marketplace selling herbs and potions, carpets and candles, jewellery, spices, meat and metalwork. Marrakesh has long been an important crossroads and trading centre for the Arabic, Berber and black African civilisation. To the Arabic northerners, it is seen as the "beginning of the south".

Comprised of 118 masses of land in a lagoon, Venice (Venezia) is connected to the mainland city of Mestre by a thin causeway. The city is divided into six ancient administrative districts or sestieri: Cannaregio, Castello, San Marco, Dorsoduro, San Polo, and Santa Croce, with the Canal Grande snaking throughout. You can walk to most places in Venice (Venezia) itself, and take a ride on a vaporetto (waterbus) to any of the islands. The vaporetto network runs regular service around the city and out to most of the islands.
